Welcome
to the

VXNArmy

We are a wellness community of like minded women. Our special bond has a scientific explanation—it's called entrainment. You've got music, dancing, and the group's energy all mixing in, bringing out feelings of joy, excitement, and a sense of unity that's almost magical.

When everyone's on the same wavelength through synchronized moves and shared emotions, it tightens the bonds, builds trust, and makes the whole atmosphere super supportive and inclusive.

It's like the secret sauce that turns the #VXNArmy into a big, awesome sisterhood.

wHAT WE’RE ALL ABOUT

Move

We combine Dance with Intense Aerobic Exercise: Dance, which provides joy, cognitive challenges, and social interaction, with the cardiovascular and metabolic benefits of intense aerobic exercise, offers a comprehensive workout that is not only good for the body but also for the brain and emotional health. This combination maximizes physical health, enhances mood, and supports cognitive function, making it an excellent choice for a well-rounded fitness regimen.

Feel

Intentionally, we include movements and music to regulate emotions, reduce stress, and evoke positive feelings. Our basic moves are crafted to look good, feel good, and engage both the mind and body. We choreograph them into phrases then sequence them inside songs with different emotional themes; resulting in an embodied experience of an emotion..

Connect

VXN fosters connection through collective attunement, leveraging natural human tendencies toward synchronization, shared emotional experiences, and nonverbal communication within a supportive and energized community setting. This approach creates a powerful, unified experience that transcends individual dancing, underscoring the significance of collective experiences in human bonding and emotional well-being

Hello,

I’m Janet

dance alchemist, agent of change – I help women find strength, healing, and connection through movement and teach others to do the same

Hi I’m Janet, Miami girl with Cuban Dominican roots. Rhythm almost feels like part of my DNA because of my deep connection to music—it isn’t just something I hear; I feel and see it.

Growing up, I spent every spare minute in the dance studio. When I was 13, dance took on a whole new meaning for me as my diabetic father developed gangrene from stubbing his toe, which led to multiple amputations over several years, ultimately resulting in him becoming a double amputee.

During that time, we lost our family business, moved homes and schools, and my mother bore all our family's burdens. Without emotional support to process what I was going through, dance served as both a refuge and a canvas where I could articulate, process, and briefly escape from my experiences. The physical exertion and emotional release of performance brought healing and a temporary respite.

This, along with my father's phantom pains from amputation, sparked my interest in mind-body healing connections. This led me to pursue a dance BFA, where I learned biomechanics, physiology, psychology, and choreography, fueling my passion for dance science and teaching. I danced professionally, leading to remarkable experiences on big stages, TV, film, and award shows, where I felt larger than life. Learning from top mentors and industry greats, I excelled not only as a performer and choreographer but also as a teacher, mentoring others.

As a woman, I wasn't immune to the societal pressures to conform as I got older. No escaping it. I chose to leave my career and shelve the 'real me,' toning down every aspect of myself to fit the mold in pursuit of an elusive 'happily ever after.' The toll on my spirit was profound.

Without dance, I had no means to navigate my inner world. Faced with societal pressures to conform, I found myself in a profound personal crisis that led to a dark depression I call the 'Black Hole.'

Experiencing the struggles women endure firsthand underscored the disparities between what women need and the realities we face. I witnessed the glaring gaps between societal expectations for women and what we truly need to flourish—specifically, the absence of emotional and mental support, and the total disregard for the mind-body connection.

This challenging period of introspection illuminated a path forward and served as my "aha" moment, where I realized that all my experiences could be instrumental in addressing these gaps, making a real difference in women's lives.

With profound determination, I combined my unique gifts, empathetic understanding, professional experiences, and personal journey through darkness, driven by my belief in the transformative power of dance. This led me to create VXN as a tool for change, offering a safe space for all women to disconnect from societal roles, connect with their minds and bodies, express emotions, and form connections.

Since its inception, VXN has ignited the spirits of thousands of women, transcending geographical and cultural boundaries to form a global community of women we call the #VXNArmy. By certifying instructors in my method, we extend our reach, empowering women globally to address the gaps in their own communities. Together, we're creating a ripple effect of positive change, empowering one woman at a time.
